Don't Live with Crooked Teeth

If your crooked teeth make you feel uncomfortable about your smile, don't live with them any longer. Why should you feel uncomfortable as soon as you feel the urge to smile? There are many options for correcting crooked teeth, and one of them may be right for you.

If you are primarily concerned about some crookedness or unevenness in your front teeth, porcelain veneers may be the ideal solution, especially if you have stained or discolored teeth.

For crooked teeth that include more than just the front teeth, are more than superficial, or that cause functional difficulties, you may need orthodontic treatment. Some people may get good results from Invisalign, clear plastic braces, while others may need more traditional braces, which are subtler and more effective than ever.

To learn more about how Advanced Cosmetic Dentistry can correct your crooked teeth and help you enjoy every opportunity to smile, please schedule a free initial consultation with cosmetic dentist Dr. Mike Deldar or Dr. Sohaila Deldar today.

Questions about Sedation Dentistry

One of the benefits of today's dentistry is that you can count on a painless procedure. It's painless because of continual research and development of methods and medications that keep patients not only pain free, but also free of anxiety, fear and tension of any kind. One of these methods is sedation. If you have questions about sedation dentistry, then read on.

Sedation dentistry remedies the anxiety many people experience in the dental chair. While local anesthetic alleviates any pain during the procedure, anxiety must be addressed by other methods.

Some of these are psychological. At Advanced Cosmetic Dentistry & TMJ you'll find a comforting atmosphere that offers numerous visual, audio and physical distractions and comforts to reduce anxiety.

Sedation dentistry offers pharmacological solutions. Nitrous oxide is a mile anesthetic gas that produces a pleasant relaxation. In conjunction with a mild oral sedative pill, you will find that you are awake enough to respond to Dr. Deldar's questions and comments but may not even remember the procedure.

Our team of experienced sedation dentistry staff members are trained in evaluating the most appropriate methods of sedation for each patient, as well as monitoring you throughout the procedure, so you can count on a safe, painless, and anxiety-free dental experience every time.

We look forward to seeing you when you are due for your next exam or dental procedure, so please contact Dr. Mike Deldar or Dr. Sohaila Deldar for an evaluation if you are near Indianapolis, Noblesville, or Carmel, Indiana.

Implant Dentistry Questions

When you must have a tooth pulled you know that it is going to leave a space. You know it will take a while to get used to speaking and chewing without that tooth. But did you know that a missing tooth can lead to other problems? There are a few implant dentistry questions you should ask if you have lost one or more teeth.

Remaining teeth have a tendency to move into an open space, and this will change your bite and how your upper and lower teeth will fit at rest. You might experience bone loss in the area of the missing tooth. There are other problems that can be avoided, as well.

The best way to avoid problems is to have the missing tooth replaced. There are a number of replacement options, but a dental implant is the most permanent, secure and reliable of these.

While most people are healthy enough for this type of surgery, you will need an evaluation to confirm your candidacy. There are a small number of people who are not good candidates for implants.

The staff at the Advanced Cosmetic Dentistry & TMJ is experienced in dental implants and can answer all of your questions about this preventative procedure.

Please contact Dr. Mike Deldar or Dr. Sohaila Deldar for more information about dental implants in the Indianapolis, Noblesville or Carmel, Indiana area.

Choosing a Family Dentist

Wouldn't you like to know that your dentist was the one who graduated at the top of his class? Someone had to be that person. Alternatively, someone had to be at all the other standings, including the bottom. Choosing a family dentist without regret involves more than looking up names in a phone book. Not only would you want to know that your dentist had a much higher standing in his core training, but that he also graduated from one of the better dental colleges as well.

Take the time to research your family dentist before letting one work on your teeth. Dental work is permanent, and there are risks associated even with procedures as common as a tooth filling. Certainly you wouldn't want to have a tooth pulled if it could be saved. Take advantage of the immense amount of information available to the average consumer these days, and make informed decisions about choosing a family dentist.

Dr. Mike Deldar and Dr. Sohaila Deldar graduated from the Indiana University School of Dentistry in 1997 and 2000 respectively, and are graduates of the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies–a level of training fewer than 2% of all U.S. dentists have accomplished.

If you live in the Indianapolis, Indiana area and would like to a new family dentist, please contact Advanced Cosmetic Dentistry & TMJ today to schedule your initial appointment.

Choosing a Cosmetic Dentist

You smile is one of the most important aspects of communicating with people. Your first impression on others is a lasting one, so you want it to be the best it can be. When it comes time to improve your smile choosing a cosmetic dentist should be done with planning and care.

Cosmetic dentistry is an art that takes creative talent as well as training. Dr. Mike Deldar and Dr. Sohaila Deldar are graduates of the prestigious Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI), where the most talented cosmetic dentists receive premier post-graduate training in innovative dentistry techniques.

As cosmetic dentistry and smile makeovers become more popular, cosmetic dentists are becoming more competitive. That brings up some good and bad news.

The good news is...

Today's cosmetic dentists are motivated to obtain better training and to use state-of-the-art equipment. This means more skilled talent and fewer poorly trained dentists are available in this segment of dentistry.

Lower prices are a natural result of an increased supply of services. Also, as more cosmetic dentists enter the market equipment prices drop lowering dentists’ overhead.

The bad news...
Some dentists will offer bargain prices but perform sub-standard work. Pricing alone is not a deciding factor. Low pricing may be merely an introductory method intended to build a new practice, but this can warn of a less-experienced cosmetic dentist. Others with experience but less talent may resort to low pricing as their best opportunity to compete.

When you are ready for your smile makeover, or any cosmetic dentistry correction, please contact Dr. Mike Deldar for a no-cost consultation in the Indianapolis, Noblesville, Carmel, Indiana area.

Temporomandibular Joint Disorder

The temporomandibular joints are located on either side of the face, just in front of both ears. These joints connect the jaw to the skull. The temporomandibular joint is a very complex joint, allowing us to open our mouth wide and move our jaw from side to side. However, when there is an imbalance in the temporomandibular joint, temporomandibular joint disorder, often referred to as TMD or TMJ, can result.

There are a number of symptoms of TMJ, including:

  • Ringing in the ears
  • Facial pain
  • Neck pain
  • Severe headaches, often confused with migraines
  • Cracking of the jaw

Because the above-listed symptoms are rather common and do not occur in the mouth, most who experience them seek the help of a medical doctor. Since most do not think a dentist will be able to help them if they are experienced facial pain or headaches, TMJ often goes undiagnosed for a long period of time. TMJ is most often caused by a misaligned bite, however, and neuromuscular dentists are much more qualified to both diagnose and treat TMJ.

Treatment

Treatment for TMJ is usually given in three steps. First, the dentist will relax your jaw muscles by increasing the blood flow, which will relieve you of your pain. Second, a mouthpiece will be used in order to correct your bite. The third, and final, step will be to make this improved bite permanent. This can be achieved in a number of ways, including reconstruction or orthodontics.

If you live in the Indianapolis, Indiana are and would like to learn more about TMJ, please contact the experienced neuromuscular dentists at Advanced Cosmetic Dentistry & TMJ today for your initial consultation.
